An in-depth study of cell structure and function, including molecular components of the membrane, organelles, bioenergetics, metabolism and enzymes. Lectures will expound upon topics such as membrane transport, the endomembrane system, protein targeting and sorting, endocytosis/exocytosis, cell shape, motility, cell-to-cell interaction and signal transduction processes.
