Catalog description

This course focuses on the fundamentals of IT-related risk management. Students will gain an understanding of the impact of risk, threats, and vulnerabilities on information systems. This course also covers the major elements of a risk management plan (risk identification, risk assessment, risk mitigation, business impact analysis, business continuity plan, disaster recovery, and establishing a computer incident response team). The course prepares students for the ISACA IT Risk Fundamentals Certificate. Prerequisites: CISM 230 Technical Communication and CISM 300 Networking Fundamentals. The course is a Writing Emphasis course.
