Catalog description

This course provides a comprehensive overview of networking fundamentals, including protocols, ports, addressing schemes, routing, and wireless communication standards. Students will explore physical and logical network topologies, wiring standards, and the differentiation, installation, and configuration of network devices. Hands-on activities using CompTIA CertMaster and Cisco Packet Tracer enable students to simulate, visualize, and troubleshoot network configurations in a virtual environment. The course prepares students for the CompTIA Network+ certification exam. Prerequisite: CISM 215 Information Technology Applications II.
