Catalog description

Dance Appreciation is an introductory survey course that examines dance as a form of human expression. Readings, recorded viewings, and/or live performances lead lively discussions as we navigate through the sacred, artistic, and historical influences of cultural, social, popular, and concert dance traditions in the United States and globally. We deepen our understanding of dance and choreography and learn how to better articulate, through writing and discussion, what we see, feel, and perceive in dance.
