Catalog description

This course examines the family as a social institution and includes an analysis of historical and recent changes. Students study the present nature of marriage and family, and the socio-cultural and economic forces shaping changes within this institution. Emphasis is placed on understanding interpersonal relationships, gender roles, mate selection, marital and parental roles, as well as diversity in family structures.
