Catalog description

This course emphasizes Cal/OSHA (California General Industrial Safety Orders) standards and benefits of accident prevention. Students gain an understanding of personal protective clothing and equipment; industrial housekeeping; and safety when handling and storing materials, tools, and equipment. The implications of accidents--such as loss of productivity, morale, and real and intangible costs relating to accidents--are also discussed.
