Catalog description

This course is a hands-on introduction to digital video to develop media production and visual storytelling skills. The course combines equipment demonstrations, technical workshops, lectures on film theory, readings, discussion, and critiques to give students a fully rounded introduction to all aspects of pre-production, production, and post-production processes. Topics include producing narrative fiction and documentary-style videos; treatments and storyboards; story; camera proxemics; composition; editing; video file formats and compression; special effects; and producing videos for a variety of outputs.
