Catalog description

This lecture/lab course introduces functions and features of the Linux operating system, including origin and evolution; hardware and software; both command-line and graphical user interface; files and file system structure; system services; processes; background processing; scheduling; file security; the vi editor; file sharing; and redirection and piping. Students are also introduced to shell programming and a variety of Linux command-line and graphical tools.
