Catalog description
This studio and lecture course teaches the foundational processes and aesthetic considerations of both analog and digital photography while examining contemporary trends in photography. The course includes foundational training with traditional film cameras, provided by the college, for students to learn camera mechanics; film exposure; optics; design and composition; and darkroom skills required to produce quality continuous-tone silver black and white prints. The course also includes a hands-on introduction to digital photography practices using DSLR cameras which are provided by the college.
