Catalog description

This course introduces students to the fundamentals of typographic design. Explored to its full potential, clear, appropriate, and functional typography has the ability to affect the way we absorb information; communicate atmospheres and emotions; enhance our aesthetic understanding; and excite us visually. The course is structured into weekly studio practices that address the relationships between image, concept, form, and message. Weekly critiques help students articulate appropriate, refined, and inventive designs.
