Catalog description
This course provides an in-depth understanding of the operation, maintenance, and applications of multi-rotor drones. Students will gain hands-on experience with flight planning autonomous and manual flight controls, payload integration, and data collection. Topics include Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) regulations, safety protocols, airspace classifications, and environmental considerations. The course emphasizes operational proficiency, troubleshooting, and best practices for commercial and recreational drone use. By the end of the course, students will have the skills necessary to operate multi-rotor drones safely and effectively in various industries, preparing them for FAA Part 107 certification and professional applications. Lecture 4 hours per week.
