Catalog description
This course includes principles, testing, and pathological states in hematology. Emphasis is placed on the most common procedures utilized in a hematology and coagulation department and a basic understanding of hematopoiesis and coagulation. Upon completion of the course, the student will understand the clinical role hematology and coagulation plays in the treatment of patients. Lecture 3 hours and Laboratory 2 hours per week. Prerequisite(s): Grade of "C" or better in all previous MLT courses or approval of instructor.
