Catalog description

This course introduces students to the principles of building science and how environmental factors influence building performance, comfort, and energy efficiency. Students will examine the interactions between heat, air, and moisture flow through the building envelope, learning how construction materials, insulation, and ventilation systems affect durability and occupant health. Lecture and Lab includes topics in weatherization techniques such as air sealing, insulation installation, and moisture control to improve building performance. Lecture 3 hours per week.
