Catalog description

This course provides instruction in the analysis and repair of non-structural (cosmetic and bolt-on) collision damage. Students develop skills in damage assessment, repair planning fundamentals, panel removal and replacement, metal straightening techniques, body filler application, and surface preparation. Instruction includes welding fundamentals for non-structural components, corrosion protection, use of specialty tools and equipment, and proper alignment of bolt-on panels to restore fit and finish. Emphasis is placed on following manufacturer repair procedures, maintaining safety standards, and producing repairs that meet industry quality expectations. Lecture 2 hours and Laboratory 6 hours per week.
