Catalog description

This course provides comprehensive instruction in structural damage analysis and correction for both unitized (unibody) and conventional frame vehicles. Students learn to analyze collision damage, interpret structural dimensions, and apply industry-standard measuring techniques using manual and computerized laser/3D electronic measuring systems. Instruction includes proper setup and operation of frame alignment equipment, anchoring procedures, pulling strategies, and documentation of structural repairs. Emphasis is placed on vehicle construction, sectioning procedures, weld integrity, corrosion protection, and safety protocols associated with structural repairs. Pre-requisite CRT-1003 Lecture 2 hours and Laboratory 4 hours per week.
