Catalog description

The first of a two-semester study of the structure and functions of the organ systems of the human body and how they work together to maintain homeostasis. This study introduces the anatomy and physiology of the human body with emphasis on body structure and function. Topics covered will include chemical, cellular, and tissue level of organization; integumentary, skeletal, muscular, and nervous systems. Prerequisite(s): A "C" or better in BIOL 1014, BIOL 1434, CHEM 1214 or CHEM 1415 or a "B" or better in each of two semesters of high school chemistry. Lecture 3 hours and Laboratory 2 hours per week.
