Catalog description

Fire Investigator is designed to equip students with the foundational knowledge and practical skills necessary to conduct thorough and legally sound fire origin and cause investigations. Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to identify and analyze fire patterns, recognize indicators of incendiary and accidental fires, apply scientific methods in fire scene examination, and properly collect, preserve, and document physical evidence. Additionally, students will develop the ability to interpret burn indicators, conduct witness interviews, and prepare comprehensive investigative reports suitable for legal proceedings. This course aligns with nationally recognized standards and supports students pursuing careers in fire investigation, law enforcement, insurance, and other fire service disciplines focused on determining fire causes and preventing future incidents.
