Catalog description

Prerequisite: None Recommended: Students interested in additional conversation and composition instruction may concurrently enroll in SPN 261. ^ This class is designed for students who speak Spanish at home but have not had any or little formal education in the Spanish language. The goal of the course is to enhance the student's knowledge of his/her native language and culture by exploring the nuances of the Spanish language in a variety of contexts, with emphasis on speaking, reading, writing, vocabulary, and correct spelling and accentuation. The course will be taught mostly in Spanish and will replace SPN 101 for native and near native speakers. (1.1)Fulfills the ECC/IAI General Education/Humanities requirement.
