Prerequisite: Appropriate placement score. ^ English 098 is a companion course to support the completion of ENG 101 through conferencing, small collaborative group work, and individual work. By acquiring a foundational knowledge of advanced reading and writing processes, students learn lifelong strategies to support the completion of major reading and writing assignments in ENG 101 and future writing assignments in other disciplines. Students will not only improve their grammar, punctuation, and usage skills, but will also learn how to read closely, write clearly, and think critically. A grade of C or better in ENG 098 is a prerequisite for many college-level courses. (1.4) Special Note: Developmental courses may be taken until passed with a grade of C or better.
