<h3><span style="color: #993300;"><em>MUST BE IN THE PRACTICAL NURSING PROGRAM TO TAKE THIS COURSE</em></span></h3> This course considers the special needs and nursing care of the maternity patient, fetus, and the newborn. Medical and surgical conditions of the pediatric patient and the accompanying family dynamics are also presented with emphasis on preventive medicine. Principles of growth and development from the prenatal period through adolescence are incorporated. Clinical experience occurs in the maternal/newborn nursing setting.
