Catalog description
This applied ethics course uses the framework of ethics from the margins, an approach that puts the experience, knowledge, and voices of vulnerable people and communities at the moral center. Students analyze and act on contemporary social justice issues through examination of oppressive myths, power dynamics, and structures. Through presence and relationship-building in community, students gain first-hand knowledge from people impacted by the issues under study. This course only satisfies the CORE requirement when offered as a service learning course.
