Catalog description

Advanced Counseling Techniques: Brief and CBT Therapies. Presentation and practice of Brief and CBT theories and interventions applied to consumers and their families, diverse cultural and socioeconomic groups, and HMO’s to promote resilience, health, and healthy functioning. Contemporary evidence-based models in CBT, Solution-Focused, and Narrative Therapies address behavioral issues, co-occurring mental health and substance abuse disorders, personality disorders and other DSM 5 categories as appropriate. The course will include instruction on how to write the Individual Case Study and Treatment Plan that the CP Program and other professional settings use. This course is restricted to students in the Counseling Psychology Graduate Program.
