Catalog description

An introduction to Biochemistry. Chemistry of carbohydrates, lipids, proteins, nucleic acids, vitamins, and hormones, with major emphasis on biochemical processes in human cells. This class also covers enzyme kinetics, energetics of metabolic reactions and molecular biochemistry - 3 lecture hours. Prerequisite: CHEM 3800/CHEM 3805 with a grade of ‘C-’ (1.7) or better.
