Catalog description

This course provides a brief review of the language disorders and how they may present across the lifespan. There is a presentation of the definition of "evidence based" and then an overview of various evidence based intervention strategies including those for neurogenic communication disorders. Students will first understand the link between literacy and language and then will identify enrichment strategies that can be utilized in a variety of contexts. There will be a review of cognition and the SLPA role in supporting cognitive communication needs across the lifespan. Students will learn how to complete language and communication development screenings, and will practice their skills.
