Catalog description

This course provides a detailed overview of typical language development starting at birth and through adolescence. There will be an emphasis on the typical sequence and timing of language acquisition and an examination of the different theories of language development. This course will review theories of nature vs nurture as it relates to language development. This class will explore the impact of play, the use of developmentally appropriate toys, and the impact of screen time as it relates to language development.
