A survey of styles and personalities in American and British popular music from 1950 to the present. A study of the historical and cultural development of Rock music, its multi-cultural roots, and its relationship with the other arts. Includes discussions of concepts and aesthetics of popular music, as well as comparisons of Rock styles, genres, and stylistic traits with other selected musical styles.
