Catalog description

This course develops professional communication skills essential to today's business environment. Principles of effective workplace communication are examined, including credibility, interpersonal communication, emotional intelligence, ethical and legal considerations, and collaboration in teams and meetings. Emphasis is placed on planning, composing, and revising routine, persuasive, and bad news business messages using appropriate formats, channels, and technologies. The course also introduces strategies for improving message clarity through style and design, explores the role of artificial intelligence in business communication, and builds skills in planning and delivering professional business presentations.
