Basics of Comedy provides active experience in a specific topic within the realm of comedy writing or performance. In Jokes and Stand-Up students actively explore a variety of approaches to the practice of standup comedy. Students will brainstorm ideas, write and perform jokes and stories, begin to develop their comic persona and point of view, and learn the basics of open mics and other forums for standup performance.
