Catalog description

This course is designed to introduce theatre and dance students to the methods and processes used by designers in the creation of performance. It will cover the various disciplines of production design, elements and principles of design, aesthetics, and the creation of style. It will also introduce students to the various jobs available in design and production. Students will experience the different stages of the production process and the tools used for successful collaboration. Through readings, projects, field trips, and lectures students will view and experience the process of theatrical design.
