Abstract in Painting and Drawi

Catalog description

Abstract painting or drawing aims to communicate immediate emotions or visual experiences through color and form. Abstract art does not attempt to represent reality and instead uses pure shapes, repetition, simplification, forms, textures, and gestural marks for visual impact. Current abstract art also engages with humanity and social issues. This course will give an overview of abstract art and artists. Students have the opportunity to find their own unique visual language through creating series of abstract paintings, drawings, and hybrid media works.
