Catalog description

In this studio course, students explore drawing-based techniques in printmaking with a focus on process, mark-making, and expressive image-making. Students develop skills in block printing and intaglio (etching), then collaborate on a risograph-printed artist book project. Emphasis is placed on printing, monotyping painterly techniques, and the use of editions and variations as platforms for visual experimentation. Technical instruction is paired with critique and critical frameworks that connect personal image-making to the broader field of contemporary print.
