ARTH 315 - Art Theory & Practice engages students in the critical and creative processes of articulating complex ideas through multiple modes of communication. Students analyze historical and contemprary artworks using interdisciplinary theoretical frameworks such as feminism, postcolonialism, and environmental aesthetics. Through this analytical work, they build their capacity to interpret, frame, and communicate the meaning, context, and impact of artworks to varied audiences. The course is structured to support research-driven articulation of artistic processes and intentions, emphasizing the translation of theoretical positions into creative practice. Students use written, verbal, and visual communication, supported by digital tools, to share their ideas, engage in critical discourse, and present their work publicly. By situating their practice within broader cultural and political contexts, students learn to communicate with clarity, precision, and adaptability.
