Catalog description
This course develops the knowledge, skills and attitudes required to collect health history data and to perform a systematic physical examination. Developmental and transcultural considerations are addressed along with the concepts of health promotion and disease prevention. The focus in this course is integration of the components of the nursing health assessment in the context of teaching and supporting lifestyle choices for individuals of all ages. On-campus lab experiences are in small groups with hands-on practice. Prerequisites: BI152/152L, BI162/162L, MA100 or higher, NUR101, COM 101, EN 101, EN 102, PSY 101 Corequisites: CH254, CH254L, NUR 210
