Catalog description

This course provides an introduction to key elements of pharmacist care of patients, including patient assessment, patient safety, and quality improvement. It also reinforces knowledge of the top 200 medications and pharmacy calculations skills. As part of this course, students will learn about topics such as the basics of physical assessment, taking a medical history and review of systems, interpretation of laboratory and diagnostic tests, documentation of patient care activities, writing progress notes, and therapeutic plan development as part of patient-centered care related to cardiovascular, renal, gastrointestinal, and respiratory diseases and conditions. Prerequisite: P2 standing or approval from instructor.
