Catalog description

After 12 months of intensive study and didactic coursework, you are ready to apply clinical skills, interpersonal communication, medical knowledge, clinical reasoning, and problem-solving to real-life patient assessment, diagnosis, and management through supervised clinical practice experiences (SCPEs) in the four-week Clinical Rotation - Elective II. The Elective rotation is designed to give students the opportunity to further their medical practice and patient care interests and skills in a medical discipline of their choice. The emphasis of this rotation is to provide medical or surgical care for emergent, acute, and/or chronic conditions and disease commonly seen in the chosen medical discipline consistent with the role and responsibilities of a PA. Prerequisites: Acceptance into the PA program. Successful completion of preceding courses in PA program.
