Catalog description

A survey of issues and strategies needed to teach diverse students. The course seeks to develop cultural competencies that accompany various aspects of multicultural education related to racial, ethnic, linguistic and cultural diversity. Strategies for the practice of culturally responsive teaching will be introduced. As a course assignment, students will log at least 15 hours of interaction with diverse students and complete a reflective journal.
