TERRORISM & THE LAW

Catalog description

May be used to satisfy the Writing Requirement. This course will explore several fundamental legal questions concerning both international and domestic terrorism. In the international sphere, we will examine a series of controversial government policies enacted after 9/11: enhanced interrogation, wireless wiretapping, the detention of enemy combatants, and the use of extraordinary rendition. In the domestic terrorism field, we will examine the rise of far-right extremism, as well as the nation's legal response to the January 6th insurrection.
