May be used to satisfy the Writing Requirement. Limited to 3rd year students enrolled in the tax concentration. TAXATION CONCENTRATION SEMINAR is a year-long seminar, designed for students electing the tax concentration, will explore the formulation of tax policy from legal, economic and political perspectives. Fall semester topics may include alternative tax systems, integration of the corporate and individual income tax, wealth transfer tax reform proposals, professional responsibility in tax practice, and selected current legislative or administrative concerns. One early class will be devoted to federal tax research techniques. Each participant will produce a paper of publishable quality under the supervision of a member of the tax faculty. During the Spring semester, the principal seminar activity will be the presentation and discussion of student papers. The entire tax faculty will participate in this seminar. Students who have not elected the tax concentration may not enroll in the seminar.
