Catalog description
Civil Procedure I explores civil litigation from the inception of a suit through trial and appeal. This course typically considers service of process, pleadings, discovery, pretrial, trial itself (with or without a jury), appellate review and preclusion. This course will also introduce personal and subject matter jurisdiction, and the "Erie Problem". NOTE: Students who have previously enrolled in this course may not enroll in Fundamentals of Civil Procedure (LAW*262).
