With permission of their advisor, students may take up to 6 units of Independent Studies courses. These may be particularly useful to a doctoral student who is considering a topic of special interest or who needs a particular advanced research methods course pertinent to the dissertation. They may serve any student who wishes to study with a particular faculty member. Online registration not possible. To register, submit the Independent Study Contract to the Registrar's Office.
