Catalog description
Students will learn theory and application of group counseling theory, including the therapeutic factors of group work and principles of group dynamics. There will be a strong experiential group process component to the course. Through class experientials, lectures and discussions students are explicitly and implicitly taught group theory topics relating to working across complex identity differences such as - managing microaggressions, considering equity and inclusion in screening group members, and seeing the therapy group as social microcosm. RESTRICTED TO ICP STUDENTS
