Catalog description
Through lecture, readings, discussion, experientials, and vignettes, this course will cover the development of adult psychopathology and the categorization system of the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual, from a historical, contemporary, sociocultural, systems, spiritual, decolonial and critical lens. Students will learn about differential diagnosis, comorbidity, the use of psychometric assessment tools, as well as varying sociocultural perceptions, transpersonal interpretations of diagnostic categorizing, and the sociopolitical impact of the development of current diagnostic criteria. RESTRICTED TO ICP STUDENTS
