Catalog description

An examination of the role of music in the exploration of consciousness in therapeutic settings, beginning with a historical overview of Indigenous practices. We will cover the development of music in psychedelic-assisted therapy research and Guided Imagery and Music adaptations without the use of substances. Students will have a chance to experience the transformative power of music and imagery during class, learn about ethics, therapeutic applications, and explore their own relationships to music listening. No musical experience is necessary. RESTRICTED TO COUNSELING PSYCHOLOGY STUDENTS; PRIORITY REGISTRATION TO ICP AND ICPW STUDENTS
