Adv Sem: Jung and Nature
California Institute of Integral Studies · Fall 2026
Catalog description
C. G. Jung was among the earliest psychological thinkers in the modern West to realize how intimately the human psyche remained linked to the natural world. Many of his key insights about that relationship are especially relevant now, in our time of ecological crisis, a time anticipated by writings in Jung's journals and in his emphasis on returning to nature in order to maintain health and balance. This course will explore Jung's often complex relations with the world outdoors and survey the tools he left us for tracing the world's influence into the depths of mind and mood, health and dream. PRIORITY REGISTRATION TO EAST-WEST PSYCHOLOGY STUDENTS.
