Catalog description

Students taking this course for the first time should enroll here. The Advanced Ph.D. seminar on conference, workshop, and class presentation provides a space for Ph.D. students to develop skills in presenting research to a community of peers. Among the subjects covered will be identifying a topic, establishing research objectives, finding and utilizing existing research, crafting a strong scholarly argument, and creating effective audiovisual support material. Students are free to choose their own topics and, throughout the semester, will work closely with one another, critiquing and offering ideas and insights from their processes. Completed presentations will be given in the final weeks of the semester. Priority to EWP students.
