Catalog description

This seminar provides an opportunity for students to expand their spiritual counseling skills, including the capacity to apply theory and skills acquired in Spiritual Counseling electives, through direct practice. Students enrolled in this course will offer spiritual counseling sessions to community members, whilst receiving support for their burgeoning skills through group consultation, case presentations, and professional trainings. This course provides an engaged space to promote the further development of spiritual counseling skills and practice in these broad areas: assessment, intake and case formulation, therapeutic relationship, refinement of counseling skills, ethical considerations, risk-assessment and practice building.
