Catalog description

Introduces elements and stylistic practices of jazz improvisation for classroom and public performance. Accuracy of technique, validity of style, shadings of interpretation, disciplines of rehearsal and performance. Students should have the ability to play an instrument with proficiency, equivalent to one to two years of study. May be offered in a distance-learning format.
