Catalog description
Introduces black and white photography as a means of visual communication and personal expression through the study of historical and contemporary photographs and image creation with camera operation, film processing, and darkroom-based printing. Emphasizes the analysis of work created by diverse photographic artists, critical evaluation of student work, theory of aesthetics, cultural and social contexts, and the relationship between the technical elements of photography and image content. Includes demonstration, critique, darkroom laboratory work, and field studies. May be offered in a distance-learning format.
