Catalog description

This didactic and practicum course focuses on the role of the family nurse practitioner in providing equitable, person-centered primary care to individuals and families across the lifespan. Emphasis is placed on health promotion, disease prevention, and the assessment, diagnosis, and management of common acute and chronic conditions, with attention to cultural, socioeconomic, and health equity considerations. Supervised clinical practice experiences support the application of evidence-based primary care across diverse populations and settings. (Class and practicum: 225 practicum hours).
