Catalog description
This course introduces foundational nursing knowledge across the lifespan. The clinical judgement model, and concepts of communication & compassionate care are used for development of nursing skills, safety, infection control, oxygenation, nutrition, skin integrity, mobility, elimination, hygiene, sleep, medication administration and perioperative care. Spheres of care include Disease Prevention/Health Promotion and Chronic Disease Care, Hospice/Palliative/Supportive Care. (3 hrs. class per week, 90 hrs. clinical per semester)
